The process of how to set up Google Voice account, also known as Google Phone, is not that difficult. It used to be more difficult to do, but it now has very helpful online instructions. You can try it free for seven days without any charge, so you're not losing anything by trying it out. But you might be curious as to how this feature works.
Google Voice is basically a free web-based phone service which enables you to connect all your other mobile services, like your cell phone, internet, and voicemail, to just one phone number. In other words, if you own a landline at home and a business telephone as well, instead of bouncing between three mobile devices and three different phone numbers, you could simply give out just one easy Google Voice number to anyone who calls. It works just the same way that Google Now works with cards. All you need is an eligible mobile device and an internet connection and you're ready to go.
To get started, download the Google Voice app, which will provide you with a toll-free number, access to voicemail (also free of charge), and basic info about your voice, including your area code and seven-digit numeral. When you want to make or receive calls, simply access the Google Voice app, find your number in the search box, click" dial," and you're connected. Now, if you only have an eligible mobile device and internet connection, the process is even easier. Simply download the Google Maps application, install the free app (which will enable you to send and receive Google Maps traffic data), and then find your phone number in the on-screen map display.
A
quick tutorial on how to set up google voice on your iPhone, which I also
performed on an iPhone 5s, can be found at the end of this article. Once you've
downloaded the Google Voice app, find your phone number (you can do this by
searching for it on Google), tap the + button next to your number, and then
enter. This will bring up your entire phonebook, which should be updated to
include your current telephone company, if it doesn't you'll need to scroll
down to the bottom of the screen and tap "view complete listings."
You may need to scroll up to see your complete phone information. If everything
is correct, your phone is set up and ready to go!
How
to set up google voice on an iPhone by going to the Google search engine route
is pretty simple. First, head over to the Google search site and create a free
account. By creating a free account, you're creating your personal profile
which is required to start talking on your mobile device. After creating a
profile, it's time to create a call sending code. These are what will actually
make your Google voice mobile device dial a telephone number (or send a text
message) on your behalf when you send them a message or call them.
If
you've never created a call sending code before, it's easy. To create a call
sending code, tap the "codes" link at the bottom of any Google
webpage and select "Google Phone Number Send Code" as the type of
code you'd like. Enter the number or message that you would like the Google
call service to dial into the appropriate box. Click the phone number send code
button and then hit the "send" button to send the requested Google
phone call or message to the designated phone number or area code.
How
to set up Google Voice on your iPhone is similar to how you set up Google Voice
on your Android mobile device. You will need to go to the Google Voice
application and sign in with your Google account. Once you do, the process is
relatively easy. Once you enter the phone numbers and area codes that you wish
to dial into Google Voice, click the "Phone Numbers" link to select
your existing phone numbers. Select "New Phone Number" and then
follow the instructions for selecting an extension and selecting a voice icon.
In
addition to being able to make and receive international calls, Google Voice
allows you to dial long-distance numbers as well. Simply find your numbers in
Google Voice and touch the plus sign next to the numbers to dial. You can make
and receive calls to all phones listed under your Google Voice account
regardless of whether they are local or toll-free. In addition to these
features, Google Voice also offers a number of other features including free
voice mail and e-mail, Google Maps, Google Alerts, Google+ Social Ads, Google
Now, iGoogle Translator, and integration with the Chrome browser.
